I am Wendy Kogler. I am a certified  Doula with DONA (Doulas of North  America), a certified Lactation Counselor and a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator.   I have been supporting Milwaukee area  families since 2000 by building confidence through prenatal education and as a Birth and Postpartum Doula encouraging empowering birth and confident parenting. I have the best job in the world- assisting families with the ordinary, everyday miracles of pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and new babies!

Why Choose a Birth Doula?
 
The word Doula is from the ancient Greek, meaning "woman care giver".  Today, Birth Doulas are women trained in childbirth who provide continuous physical, emotional and informational support to women during labor. Repeated studies show that by using a Doula, women can reduce the need for medical intervention, medications and accompanying complications. Additional benefits include: enhanced bonding, more successful breastfeeding and greater maternal satisfaction with the birth experience.

Post Partum Doula Services

A Postpartum Doula, sometimes referred to as a "baby nurse" is trained to assist families with the transitions and challenges that new babies bring.
A Postpartum Doula's responsibilities are as varied as the families that they serve. Each family has unique needs and wishes and each Doula comes with their own experiences and skills. In all cases, a Postpartum Doula emotionally and physically helps families ease through the adjustments and changes of a growing family.  The positive reinforcement of a Postpartum Doula leads to less anxiety and stress, speeding mother's recovery time and allowing for more time to bond with baby and build confidence in  her mothering  skills.
Post partum Doula services:$26/hr including travel time. Overnights available. Breastfeeding support is an invaluable part of Wendy's postpartum service.
